The company was registered in New South Wales on February 27 1930 and took over the assets and business of George A. Bond & Co Ltd (In Liquidation) and George A. Bond Cotton Mill Ltd. (In Liquidation). In March 1967, a successful takeover offer was made for H. B. Dickie Ltd (Dickies Pty. Ltd).
On August 14 1970 the company's name change to Bonds Coats Patons Ltd, to reflect the merger with the Australian interests of Coats Patons of the United Kingdom. On November 11 1987 the company's name changed back to Bond's Industries Ltd.
In June Pacific Dunlop moved to takeover the company. On January 28 1988 the company was successfully taken over by Pacific Dunlop.
At present the company is listed as a subsidiary of Pacific Dunlop Limited.
