Summary
Formed in 1888 by the merger of R Goldsbrough & Co Ltd (Melbourne) and Mort & Co Ltd (Sydney). In 1922 Goldsbrough Mort & Co acquired the business and assets of Harrison, Jones & Devlin (wool broking, skin and hides); and in 1924 Bagot, Shakes & Lewis.
From 1937 to 1961 the firm underwent major expansion, acquiring local business and establishing branch offices.
In 1962 the company merged with Elders Smith & Co Ltd to form Elder Smith Goldsbrough Mort & Co Ltd..
