Summary
Formed in London in 1835 by a syndicate headed by George Fife Angas, with the aim of encouraging the preliminary purchase of land following a decision to offer the colonial government twelve shillings per acre.
The company was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1855 and was wound up in 1949.
