Summary
Born Scotland in 1832 McCulloch migrated to Port Phillip to try his luck on the goldfields. In the early 1860s he established the McCulloch Carrying Co.
The business was soon well established with offices in a number of country towns and it owned five paddle steamers.
McCulloch's younger brother James helped to run the business. McCulloch Carrying Co merged with Wright, Heaton & Co. in 1898.
