Wolverhampton Metal Company (Australia) Pty Ltd (c. 1950 - 1956?)
- From
- c. 1950
Sydney, New South Wales - To
- 1956?
Summary
In 1950, in conjunction with the British Metal Corporation Ltd, The Wolverhampton Metal Company Ltd purchased land and built a factory in Botany Bay, Sydney, Australia. With a view to starting business on the same lines as in Wednesfield, key personnel were sent out to supervise the initial stages. The preliminary activities coincided with a severe manufacturing slump in Australia and difficulties were encountered in securing plant and labour of the right type. The building was completed and business continued for at least the following six years. It is unclear from the records that exist whether the company continued trading post 1956.
