In 1972 Fairymead Sugar Company Limited changed it's name to Bundaberg Sugar Company Limited.

Millaquin Sugar Company Limited merged into the business in 1975. This included the Bundaberg Distilling Company Pty Ltd.

In 1986 50% of was sold to Carlton & United Breweries Limited.

The company was acquired by Tate & Lyle plc.
